The results are out for the top 10 best selling car brands in South Africa, March 2020. NAAMSA – the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa – which represents the collective, non-competitive interests of the new motor vehicle manufacturing industry in South Africa has compiled its list of the top brand sales. As expected –  considering the current economic conditions, junk status, and the Coronavirus outbreak – we have seen a massive 29,7 percent drop in car sales from the same time last year, March 2019.

The top 10 selling car brands for March 2020 are:

  1. Toyota: 8 715 units (with 4 229 exports)
  2. Volkswagen Group: 5 499 units (with 8 461 exports)
  3. Nissan: 2 775 units (with 130 exports)
  4. Ford: 2 667 units (with 6 363 exports)
  5. Hyundai: 2 245 units
  6. Mercedes-Benz: 1 506 units, estimated (with 5 004 exports, estimated)
  7. Renault: 1 426 units
  8. Suzuki: 1 249 units
  9. Isuzu: 1 224 units (with 250 exports)
  10. Kia: 1 003 units
